Assistant Photo Editor

Location: Poole, Dorset

Hours: Monday – Thursday 9.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Our client pioneers inventive products crafted for enduring quality. They are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join their team as Assistant Photo editor.

As an Assistant Photo Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring product images meet the highest standards of quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the Studio Manager and Photo Editor to meet tight deadlines for image editing and retouching.
  • Efficiently handling a high volume of images, working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensuring consistency and quality across all platforms by working closely with other team members.
  • Utilising advanced editing techniques, including clipping paths, masking, colour correction, and AI tools, to manipulate images according to photo briefs.
  • Managing the image clipping process, ensuring all images are checked and returned with accurate clipping paths.
  • Organising and uploading images to the company database, maintaining accurate file data.
  • Batch processing images for web in accordance with brand guidelines.
  • Creating simple clipping paths when necessary.
  • Effectively managing your workload to meet daily deadlines and business requirements.
  • Adhering to industry best practices for photo editing.
  • Supporting the business with additional tasks, such as creating visual presentations for customer meetings.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • A BTEC qualification in Graphic Design, a Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, with a strong understanding of image editing tools.
  • A keen eye for detail, capable of identifying image defects.
  • Experience clipping images and saving paths correctly.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a large number of files.
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator is preferred but not essential.
  • The ability to consistently retouch multiple images of similar products, ensuring uniform quality across different angles and lighting conditions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
